AI and voice
Where Preppi uses AI, what goes into it, what can go wrong, and how to ask a person to look.
Version 2026-10-26-1. Last changed 2026-10-26.
Where AI is used, and where it is not
The tutor is an AI service. It explains answers, gives hints and answers questions about NMAT topics, using our own study notes and stored solutions.
Every reply from the tutor is written by an AI. Some practice questions and study notes were first drafted with AI, and some practice questions are made by computer programs; all are checked by software and by people. We do not mark each question or answer one by one: this page and the Credits page, which shows how many questions are AI-drafted, are where we say it. If you want to know how a particular question was made, ask us through the contact form.
Your study plan and the questions you are given are chosen by rules in our own software from your answers and your week. They are not AI. We say "AI" only where it is AI.
What goes into the AI
When you use the tutor, we send what you type, the practice question you are working on and the study notes it is using to our AI provider so it can write a reply. Unless you switch personalisation off, we also send a short summary of how you have been learning, such as which topics look shaky and how often you use hints.
Your name and your email address are not sent. From your profile the tutor takes only the language you chose.
What comes out, and what it means for you
You get explanations, hints and suggestions about what to practise next, in English or Taglish. The AI does not decide anything about your admission to any school, and it does not predict your NMAT score or percentile.
The tutor can also shape what it offers you to practise next, based on your accuracy and speed. You can reset the tutor's record of how you learn, or switch it off, in your Tutor settings.
What can go wrong
The tutor can be wrong, unclear or out of date, and it can sound sure when it is not. Where its reply rests on a study note it names the note, so you can check it. Do not use it as your only source for anything important; CEM's own materials are the authority on the test.
What you type may be processed on servers outside the Philippines. See the Privacy notice.
Asking a person to look
Under every tutor reply is a button to say it looks wrong. A member of our team may then read that reply, the practice question it answered and the reason you gave, but not your name or your other messages, and each time someone looks it is logged. You can see what became of it on the My reports page when it is available.
You can also report a question that looks wrong from the practice screen and after a test. To ask a person to look at your study plan, or to contest anything an automated step has done, write to support@preppi.app.
Who provides the AI
The tutor's replies are written by a model from Anthropic. Our database and sign-in are provided by Supabase. We stay responsible for your data when they handle it for us.
Training
We do not train any AI model on what learners type.
Our AI provider is Anthropic. Its Commercial Terms (effective 17 June 2025, section B) say: "Anthropic may not train models on Customer Content from Services." Its privacy center (updated 1 July 2026) says it automatically deletes API inputs and outputs from its systems "within 30 days of receipt or generation", and keeps them longer only in a few cases, such as content flagged by its safety systems (up to 2 years), what the law requires and enforcing its Usage Policy. Both statements were read on 2026-10-26. Their terms can change, so this is what they said on that date.
Voice
Preppi does not record, store or process your voice. If we ever add a voice feature, we will tell you first, you will have to start it yourself, and we will ask for your agreement before any recording.
